Rhyming poems – for every occasion

Sunday, November 20th, 2011

Ever since I began giving rhyming poems to my boss he’s eased up on me.
I send him when he’s grumpy.  I send them for every holiday and then some.
Once in a while I’ll give a limerick that really cracks him up.

I really believe my efforts are why I still have a job.  Not that I’m a bad
worker who needs to rely on buttering up the boss to stay employed, it’s
just that it gives me a tiny edge over someone else who might be trying to
push me out of the way and steal my job.

I mean, how do you fire someone who is as considerate and uplifting as
I am?  Rhyming poems are going to take me right to the top of the
company.  It’s a very cool and manipulative gimmick and I’m mighty
glad I thought of it.

My daddy, my husband, my momma
Are excited as can be
Their baby’s turning thirty
And they’re going all out for me

They’re throwing a magical birthday bash
With a bonfire lighting your way
Fabulous music, bountiful drinks
And mouth melting coo shon de lay

We were just girls at kindergarten

Not that long ago

Now here we are grown up and gorgenous

Turning  the big Three-O

Through thick and thin we’ve been together

You’re my forever friend

We’ll be dancing, shopping, clubbing, dining

‘Til the very end

Do You Want To Make Someone Feel Like Royalty?

My girlfriend was having a special birthday and I wanted
to make her feel like a goddess.   How could I make it
the most special night of her life?  I wanted to pour out
my feelings of love for her and make it a totally romantic
evening.  How could I put into words what a sexy, adorable,
hot, funny, smart, bigger-than-life woman she was, and
would always be, to me?

I spent hours on the internet trying to come up with the
perfect gift for the perfect woman.  Well of course I would
be taking her out to dinner, wining and dining her with
flowers and champagne and, last but not least, I had
the engagement ring already bought and paid for.

Being a hopeless romantic, I finally found it.
I could hire a ghostwriter to compose a poem just
for her, taking my words and weaving them into a
beautiful story about her, all in clever rhyme.

When I read it to her, she was one happy lady!
